Your support and contributions will enable us to meet our goals and fund our mission.
Trinity’s Table is a community outreach ministry of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, an ELCA congregation located in the East End of Charleston, West Virginia.
Volunteers from the congregation and from the community provide a nutritious and balanced lunch every Wednesday to the senior citizens who gather at Roosevelt Community Center, also on Charleston’s East End.
Meals include meat, vegetables, fruit and desserts each week. Spaghetti, meatloaf, chicken and dumplings, sweet and sour chicken, Reuben casserole, chicken alfredo, tacos and burritos, and beef tips over noodles are just a few of the meals served in recent months.
Additionally, meals are served at the Second Avenue Community Center to students in the after-school program. The center, located on Charleston’s West Side, serves students from Mary C. Snow Elementary and others from the area. A healthy supper as well as extra take-home snacks are provided.
Volunteers from Trinity’s Table deliver boxes filled by Facing Hunger Food Bank, through the United States Department of Agriculture, to senior citizens throughout the Kanawha Valley. We deliver boxes to our friends at the Roosevelt Center, to the women at the YWCA Shanklin Center, and to other seniors through Faith In Action of the Greater Kanawha Valley.
Volunteers are needed to cook meals, make desserts, and groups are welcome to cook in bulk as needed.
